Blog 3

From this reading, I was able to relate to several topics brought up. He held himself accountable for maintaining his virtues on a regular basis. Although I do not write them down, I consciously think about my day and its entirety before I go to bed asking myself “What productive things did you do today? Were you a kind and considerate person to those around you? Did you waste time on pointless things?” These a just a few of the questions I ask myself to help myself become an intelligent and successful human, similar to how Ben Franklin did in his lifetime. The following sentence found in Chapter IX explains a daily struggle that I encounter similar to Benjamin Franklin, “In reality, there is, perhaps, no one of our natural passions so hard to subdue as pride.” I constantly have to watch myself on sound too cocky and thinking that I am better than others. I value my hard work and dedication, but I need to make sure that I do not come off as a know it all.
