My research is going to look at how scientific virtues are exemplified in certain courses I have taken at Michigan State University, and how these science classes are better than the other science classes that did not exemplify these virtues. My introduction will include in general what science classes are preparing students for outside of a classroom setting. Then, I will get more into the heart of my thesis by explaining that some science classes do not do a good job preparing students for the real world, and that truly great science classes are those that help form scientific virtues in their students. My thesis will revolve around the notion that science classes that make students independently think, do presentations, and work in small groups allow for a greater progression in gaining the scientific virtues compared to science classes that do none of these. The literature I will gather will be from learning institutions and college websites that I can then trace back to original research articles. These research articles are what I will be referencing throughout my paper to support my claim.
